Nathan (Nate) Harbacek is a dynamic leader in the real estate industry, having joined Opendoor in 2016. Nate was responsible for founding and building Opendoor’s partnerships and enterprise business, now Mainstay, an independent Company.  Under his leadership, Opendoor’s collaborations with agents, homebuilders, and online real estate platforms now account for nearly half of the company’s contract volumes. He also launched Mainstay, the enterprise division servicing REITs and institutional buyers, establishing it as the largest provider in the category.

With over a decade of experience in private equity and investment banking at TPG Sixth Street and Goldman Sachs prior to Opendoor & Mainstay, Nate has honed his expertise in real estate and fintech. His strategic vision and innovative approach have positioned him as a key player in the evolution of the real estate landscape.

In August 2024, Nate and Dod Fraser spun Mainstay out of Opendoor with the backing of Khosla Ventures and strategic partners.
