David is a life-long entrepreneur who has grown and sold several businesses, including a multi-million-dollar company. Currently, he is the owner and CEO of Sound Capital, a private money lender specializing in new construction and fix-and-flip loans. David’s leadership is marked by his desire to help others succeed, which draws him to real estate and partnerships with investors and developers. He values how builders and flippers transform properties into beautiful new homes, seeing them as his kind of entrepreneurs who embody his view of the American Way by building great products, transforming communities, and addressing the massive housing shortfall in America.

David also appreciates how clients invest their own capital alongside Sound Capital’s, putting their blood, sweat, and tears into creating each new home. Professionally, David’s career achievements are notable. In 1995, he developed relationships with over 125 MLS systems across the United States and Canada, making his company the first nationwide aggregator of MLS data—a breakthrough accomplishment. The value of these relationships led to multiple offers for his company, which he eventually sold to tech giant HouseValues (NASDAQ: SOLD) in 2003.

Today, Sound Capital has funded over 3,100 projects and over $2.1 billion in loans, with over 95.3% of the company’s loans coming from referrals or repeat clients. Outside of work, David enjoys adventure sports such as mountain biking, snowboarding, and wake surfing on Lake Sammamish, where he lives with his wife of 28 years and their sons, Jack, Ethan, and Aden.
